TOASTED ONION CHEESE LOG

Cooking the onion until it caramelizes enhances the onion flavor and gives it a golden color.

Cheese Log Ingredients:
1 | tablespoon LAND O LAKESĀ® Butter | |
3/4 | cup finely chopped onion | |
1 | (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened | |
6 | ounces (1 1/2 cups) LAND O LAKESĀ® Deli American or Cheddar Cheese, shredded | |
2 | tablespoons chopped fresh parsley | |
1/8 | teaspoon pepper |
Garnish Ingredients:
1/3 | cup chopped fresh parsley, if desired |
Crackers Ingredients:
Assorted crackers |
Melt butter in 8-inch skillet until sizzling; add onion. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until onion is golden brown (10 to 14 minutes). Cool completely.
Stir cream cheese in medium bowl until smooth. Add onion and all remaining ingredients except 1/3 cup parsley and crackers; mix well.
Spoon mixture onto waxed paper. Cover with plastic food wrap; refrigerate for 1 hour.
Shape cheese mixture into 10-inch log; roll in 1/3 cup parsley to coat. Wrap in plastic food wrap; refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Serve with crackers. Store refrigerated.
